5 Stress free ways to get rockin’ body confidence at any size

So between you and me it is quite stressful not having anything to wear to a party, brunch with friends, date night with a partner or going to work. The amount of times I have had to spend money on clothes of different sizes is too many to number here.

It has been stressful and painful telling myself that I’m too fat, I don’t look good in that, one of my all time favourites; what’s my family going to say about how fat I am, has caused me in the past as well as clients I’ve worked with to hold themselves back, not step into their brilliance and stay small with a small ‘s’. When looking in the mirror sometimes it isn’t so easy to say I’m beautiful, or is it?

When are you going to allow yourself to shine even more NOW? be all you are? define yourself not just by what size you are but WHO you are.? Yes, I hear you, WHO you are can vary depending on the day, weather, how you slept, who you last spoke to, what you are wearing, I’ve been there we are dynamic, flowing, change our mind in an instant creatures. I’m talking about the WHO you are at your core or essence that unchangeable, gorgeous part of yourself where your creativity and magnificence comes from that’s WHO you are and from there you can truly exude your confidence

I want you to have instant access to feeling CONFIDENT in your body at any size, it is my desire for you and every woman to give that to herself and stop waiting until “skinny enough” comes. Here are 5 sure-fire ways that I have tried and tested and given to clients again and again to get you rockin’ body confidence now…

 

  1. Forgiveness

 

Forgiveness wipes the slate to enable a reset, a letting go of all that is to be done with and allows an opening for a new beginning. It acknowledges that mistakes were made, wrong was done, and a willingness, an intent to start over is possible. What do you want to let go of, to release, to do over about the confidence or lack thereof with your body to bring more confidence into your world now?

 

  1. Acceptance

 

Acceptance is an important part of being confident within your body. It is the foundation for building trust with your body. Like any relationship, your body requires love and deep acceptance regardless of what has come before. Some days are better than others when it comes to acceptance. It is important to check in with yourself and ponder; am I in acceptance of this situation or am I resisting it? By accepting where your body, work, life, family is it allows an opening and then the solution, answer, next step can flow. What can you accept about your body now that you have been unwilling to in the past? What area of your life do you need the most acceptance in and how has this influenced the way you feel about your body now?

 

  1. Pleasure

 

This little gem is underrated as to the sheer confidence that can come when you have had a dose of pleasure. Pleasure and pain are what drives you as a human being it is innately what is yearned for. A pleasurable life is a healthy life, the body has chemicals that are created when we are experiencing pleasure and allow us to feel good, flow and be healthy. When you feel good you exude a sense of confidence and that is attractive. What brings you pleasure? is it having a dance to music you love, is it self-pleasuring or having pleasure with some else, is it eating some delectable orgasmic I mean organic dark chocolate or walking along the beach at sunset. Write a list that gives you pleasure and do at least 1 this next coming week and feel the difference.

 

  1. Relaxation

 

In this modern world, making time to relax, truly relax and switch off is quite challenging, yet I’d invite you to prioritise your relaxing and you time even for 2 minutes. When you relax this allows confidence and true radiance to bubble to the surface. Being body confident and rockin’ it, is about more than the way you look, it comes from how you feel and whilst you can ‘put on’ confidence, there is nothing more sexy and confident than a well nourished, pleasure filled woman who knows she is the priority and takes care of herself.

 

One of the quickest ways to relax and relieve stress is deep and slow breathing for minimum one minute. Focus on your belly when you breath in your belly expands and when you breath out your belly contracts. This may seem strange at first yet 5 minutes of this and you will feel your body relax, feel centred and come from a place of being in your body and more in the moment to move onto the next space or place your focus is needed.

 

  1. Gratitude

 

One of the most powerful and potent practices to do on a daily or even moment by moment basis. Gratitude has the ability to wash away anything that doesn’t feel good and bring you back to the present moment. I’d invite you to look at your body today, tonight, when you next get a moment and choose one part of your body that you are truly grateful for. Come up with minimum five reasons why you are grateful for that part and every day for a week spend 5 minutes when you are cooking, waiting in a line, travelling to a meeting or work to spend saying thank you to a part of your body and be aware of how it makes you feel.

  1. Celebration

Celebrations are underestimated; as my husband reminded me today, celebrate all the things you have done today, getting out of bed, being able to talk, being able to speak on the phone, being able to drive. So many simple things to celebrate yet for some people doing any or all of the things I listed above would be monumental. So what can you celebrate right now about your body and how it has got you to where you are at today?
